[Poka-Yoke Example] Prevention of Half-Locking of Connectors
Achieves half-lock prevention between connectors connected to the wire harness.
We received a request from an automotive parts manufacturer stating, "We want to prevent unlatched (half-locked) conditions during the wire harness connector mating process." In response to our customer's request, we developed a dedicated tool (hereinafter referred to as "Connector Mating Checker") to confirm that the connectors connected to the wire harness used in the customer's production process are in a locked state. By equipping the Connector Mating Checker with the mistake-proofing transmitter TW-800T, we created a system that "wirelessly transmits work performance when it is confirmed that the connectors are in a locked state." 【Mechanical Design】 (1) Wireless transmission occurs only when the connectors are in a locked state. (2) The design allows operators to easily perform confirmation tasks (achieving a size that fits in hand). (3) Confirmation tasks can be performed on connectors located in narrow spaces. Since numerous connectors are used in automobiles, it is expected that this system can be applied to connectors of other shapes, leading to the horizontal deployment of half-lock prevention (mistake-proofing) for connectors. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
